Spin on and Electric Spinning Wheel

Service Description

This specially designed workshop runs on the same format as our flagship Hand Spinning for Beginners workshop but is designed to use an Electric Spinner rather than a treadle spinning wheel. So if you would like to learn specifically on an E spinner this workshop is for you. Please note spaces are limited to just two students. Have you ever watched a hand spinner happily spinning soft wool into gorgeous yarns and wanted to give it a go, or felt that your knitting, crochet or weaving could be even more creative if you could spin your own yarns? Then this workshop is for you. If you have spun before and want to re-visit a forgotten skill then here is the chance to fulfil it straight away. Our one day spinning workshops are relaxed and fun and are aimed at beginners but also suitable as a refresher and covers all aspects of this enchanting and addictive skill. Workshops are held in the tranquil Norfolk countryside on our smallholding where you can meet our delightful flock of rare breed North Ronaldsay sheep and Icelandic sheep whose wool you will be spinning on the day. You will learn what to look for when choosing a good fleece for spinning. You will learn the arts of spinning and plying, maybe using the fleece from our own flock, and will make your very own skein of yarn to take home. I am more than happy for students to photograph or video aspects of the workshop to remind them at home or just to impress friends and family with! The day is very relaxed and informal. We look forward to welcoming you very soon. What is included in the price?​ All equipment is available for you to use or you may bring your own if you prefer. I supply as much fibre as you need to complete your project on the day. NOTE: All refreshments are provided including home-made cakes, biscuits, fresh fruit and beverages but please bring your own packed lunch. IF YOU HAVE ANY ALLERGIES PLEASE MAKE ME AWARE AT THE TIME OF BOOKING VIA EMAIL. Fleeces, ready carded fibres and equipment are available to buy on the day or from our online shop so you can continue your spinning as soon as you get home. Travel links are good from most major routes including by rail and taxi.

Cancellation Policy

We value your booking but understand that sometimes things can change. In such circumstances we ask that you contact us at least 7 days prior to the workshop date in order that the date can be offered to other prospective attendees. We shall be happy to re-schedule your workshop for a more suitable date. In the event of you not being able to attend or re-schedule your workshop up to 7 days before the event a full refund will be issued. Any cancellations within the 7 days prior to the workshop date will not receive a refund.
