Wonderful juicy sloe berries grown on our smallholding in Norfolk. Absolutely no chemicals used in their production. The hedges provide natural shelter for our sheep with the fruits as an added bonus. The photographs are of our sloes. All proceeds are used to feed our sheep over winter so we appreciate every single purchase.
Sloe berries produce a beautiful dusky pink colour when used for natural dyeing. 500g of berries goes a very long way and can be frozen for later use.
These vibrant berries make the most delicious sloe gin of course; the perfect accompaniment to your hand spinning perhaps! I have been known to make the gin then use the discarded berries to dye the wool. Win win!! However if natural dyeing is your preference I suggest that fresh sloes will give a stronger colour.
Our sloes are hand picked to order and posted on the same day to ensure freshness. Any orders received after 2pm will be processed the following day. We only post out on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays to ensure they arrive before the weekend so do consider that when placing your order.
Your order will arrive in plastic containers wrapped in bubble wrap to keep them safe on their journey. I do urge you to PLEASE RE-USE the packaging wherever possible.
