Hand Spinning Workshops for Beginners - £85
Have you ever watched a hand spinner happily spinning soft wool into gorgeous yarns and wanted to give it a go, or felt that your knitting, crochet or weaving could be even more creative if you could spin your own yarns? Then this workshop is for you. If you have spun before and want to re-visit a forgotten skill then here is the chance to fulfil it straight away.
Our one day spinning workshops are relaxed and fun and are aimed at beginners but also suitable as a refresher. Covers all aspects of this enchanting and addictive skill.
Workshops are held in the tranquil Norfolk countryside on our smallholding where you can meet our delightful flock of rare breed North Ronaldsay sheep and Icelandic sheep whose wool you will be spinning on the day.
You will learn what to look for when choosing a good fleece for spinning. You will learn the arts of carding, spinning and plying, using the fleece from our own flock, and will make your very own skein of yarn to take home. I am more than happy for students to photograph or video aspects of the workshop to remind them at home or just to impress friends and family with! Course notes are also provided.
Workshops can be held for individual or group tuition with a maximum of TWO (during COVID situation) students to ensure lots of 1:1 tuition. The day is very relaxed and informal. Why not take a look at our recent reviews to see what other customers have said about us.
Theresa is a qualified trainer and assessor in the Life Long Learning sector but far more importantly gets tremendous satisfaction from simply passing on these skills to others.

What's included in the price?

All equipment is available for you to use or you may bring your own if you prefer. I supply as much fibre as you need to complete your project on the day.
Refreshments of tea, coffee, fruit teas, home-baked cakes and biscuits are provided all day but please bring your own packed lunch.
Fleeces, ready carded fibres and equipment are available to buy on the day or from our online shop so you can continue your spinning as soon as you get home.
Travel links are good from most major routes including by rail and taxi.
