About the Event

Hand spinning is a craft which is relaxing, absorbing, fun and so useful but there comes a time when we want to spin a specific yarn for that perfect sweater or sock pattern we have discovered. Being able to spin with an understanding of the technicalities offers the spinner more choices as to what and how to spin which I believe keeps the craft exciting and relevant in a world where relaxation and sustainability are both key.

So why not join me for a day to learn the technical aspects of spinning which includes understanding the needs of different fibres, how to get the right amount of twist and ply, and how to create the perfect DK, laceweight or chunky yarns for example. It's really not as tricky as you may think and you will leave feeling confident enough to continue at home.

I can supply all equipment if necessary and lots of fibres to experiment with too. Refreshments are provided including homemade cakes, fresh fruit and beverages. Please bring a packed lunch.

TO BOOK: Once you have rsvp'd you will receive an email with a booking form attached and more information relating to the day. Payment details are included also. If you have any questions, or if you are unsure how this workshop can help you then please feel free to get in touch for a chat.
