2 Day Hand Spinning Workshop - £185
Why not take some valuable 'me time' to learn a new skill. The workshop will take place in our spinning barn on our smallholding in Norfolk, complete with a cosy log burner to ensure a relaxing couple of days. You will be able to meet our gorgeous Rare Breed sheep who will kindly be providing some of your wool to work with on the day.
This 2 day workshop is aimed at beginner spinners but is equally suited to those looking for a refresher. You will learn the whole process from preparation to spinning to creating your very own skeins of yarn to take home. There will be a general programme to work to however this can be adapted depending on the needs of those attending. Crafts are just not meant to be prescriptive!

Day 1: You will explore several different fleeces to learn about their properties and how best to prepare them. You will have a go at hand carding and drum carding wool in preparation for spinning. You will learn how a spinning wheel works before having a go yourself.
Day 2: It's all about the spinning. A full day of spinning and plying to create your yarns. You will have the opportunity to try different wools and other fibres to really explore this amazing craft.

What's included in the price?

You can be assured of a very warm welcome and lots of laughter! All equipment and fibres are provided however you may purchase more on the day if you choose to. If you have your own spinning wheel you may of course bring it to spin on (in good working order). A course booklet is provided with notes about the subjects covered. Refreshments will be provided eg home-baked cake, biscuits, fresh fruit, tea, fruit teas, and coffee.
